- [0](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/0/) — Who goes first?
- [2](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/2/) — Cloth (bù) beats stone, stone beats scissors, scissors beat cloth, the same as rock-paper-scissors.
- [3](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/3/) — Many games are ones you already know under other names: zhuō mícáng is hide and seek; «yī èr sān mùtourén!» (one, two, three, wooden man!) is Grandma's footsteps; tiào shéng is skipping.
- [4](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/4/) — And lǎoyīng zhuō xiǎojī (eagle catches the chicks) has a hen guarding a wobbly line of chicks from the eagle — play it on grass, because the wobbly line often tumbles over.
- [6](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/6/) — Then the trouble: «nǐ zuòbì!» (you're cheating!) and the sharper «bié shuǎlài!» (stop being a sore loser!), until someone stomps off: «bù wánr le!» — and five minutes later says «wǒ yě yào wánr».
- [8](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/8/) — zhuō mícáng («JWAW MEE?-tsahng?») is hide and seek; «it» counts to ten in Chinese and shouts wǒ lái le! (here I come!).
- [9](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/9/) — yī èr sān mùtourén («ee AR SAHN MOO-toe-run?») is the freeze game like Grandma's footsteps; move after «mùtourén» and you're out.
- [11](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/11/) — tiào shéng («TYOW SHUNG?») is skipping with a rope; tiào (jump) falls, while high tiāo means to pick; tiào píjīn is elastics.
- [12](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/12/) — wǒ yíng le («waw YING? luh») means I won; shouted too much, people call you déyì (smug).
- [13](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/13/) — nǐ shū le («nee SHOO luh») means you lost; shū (lose) sounds just like shū (book), so some families avoid giving books at New Year.
- [15](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/15/) — shuǎlài («SHWIGH-LIGH») means refusing to accept the rules, being a sore loser; it stings more than zuòbì, so use it only when it's true.
- [16](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/16/) — bù wánr le («BOO WAR luh») means I'm not playing any more, the usual end of a quarrel.
- [17](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/chinese-street/14-games-rock-paper-scissors-hide-and-seek/17/) — zài lái yí cì («DZYE LIGH? ee TSZ») means one more time; zài means again, and zài lái alone works too.
