- [0](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/0/) — Grief has no timetable: it does not stop on a set day, and it can be stirred up again by a house, a date, a song or a question in the dark.
- [3](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/3/) — Then she found an old recipe in Grandma's handwriting, and cooking it with Mum every Sunday made her feel close to Grandma again: places hold memories, but memories live in people, not only in bricks and mortar.
- [4](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/4/) — Loss also brings big questions, like "Where is he now?" or "Will Mum and Dad die too?"; families believe different things, nobody can know for sure, and asking a trusted adult out loud usually makes the scary thought quieter than keeping it alone at night.
- [5](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/5/) — And not every loss is a death: a parent going to prison or a friend far away can hurt in the same way, and that hurt is real too.
- [6](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/6/) — Places such as a grandparent's house hold memories, so losing them can feel like another loss; "bricks and mortar" means just a building.
- [7](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/7/) — You can be sad about someone you never met, such as a baby cousin who died before or at birth, especially when people you love are sad; there is no rule about who is allowed to grieve.
- [8](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/8/) — When a young person dies, the world can suddenly feel unsafe; the fear is usually big at first and shrinks with time, and most children grow up safe.
- [9](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/9/) — Watching news reports about a death again and again tends to keep the fear fresh rather than calm it.
- [10](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/10/) — People believe different things about what happens after death, such as heaven or an afterlife or nothing at all; nobody can know for sure, and each family has its own way of thinking about it.
- [11](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/11/) — People grieve in different ways; some need normal things like playing and laughing to cope, and laughing does not mean someone is not sad.
- [12](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/12/) — A new pet does not replace one that died; you can love both, and waiting until you feel ready is okay.
- [13](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/13/) — Many children start thinking about death around nine or ten; it can be scary, talking about it helps, and most people live a very long time.
- [14](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/14/) — "Existential" questions are big questions about life and why we are here; almost everyone wonders about them sometimes.
- [15](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/15/) — Losing someone can happen in other ways than death, such as a parent going to prison ("doing time"); a parent's mistake is not the child's mistake.
- [16](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/16/) — You can love someone and also know they did something wrong.
- [17](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/17/) — An anniversary is the date something happened, years later; a sad date and a happy date such as a birthday can be the same day, and people often find ways to hold both, like lighting a candle.
- [18](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/18/) — We cannot keep everyone in our minds all the time; forgetting someone for a while is not the same as not caring.
- [19](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/reflection/2-grief-has-no-timetable-houses-anniversaries-and-big-questions/19/) — Writing a letter you can never send can still help the feelings, and saying thank you to people while you can is a good habit, not a debt.
