- [0](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/0/) — Sashko waves his exercise book in the air and shouts "dvanAdtsyat!" — twelve!
- [1](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/1/) — In Ukrainian schools that is the very top mark, so you answer "krutO!".
- [2](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/2/) — A "dvoyka", a two, is the opposite: "I got a two" means the test went badly.
- [3](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/3/) — Packing the bag for school you will hear the things inside: pidrUchnyk (textbook), zOshyt (exercise book), ruchka (pen), olIvets (pencil) — and the bag itself, ryukzAk.
- [4](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/4/) — Then come the moans every kid knows: "zavtra kontrOlna" (a test tomorrow), "nudno na urOtsi" (the lesson's boring), "ya ne zrobyv" (I didn't do it) and "daI spysAty" (let me copy).
- [5](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/5/) — And the best word of all: kanIkuly, the school holidays, when the dzvinOk, the bell, rings for the last time and everyone shouts "urA!".
- [6](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/6/) — "dvanAdtsyat!" means twelve, and said about a mark it means the best possible mark; a "dvoyka" (a two) is a bad mark.
- [7](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/7/) — "pidrUchnyk" means textbook, and "zOshyt" means exercise book.
- [8](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/8/) — "zOshyt" is stressed on the first part; the end sounds like a rude English word, so English kids giggle, but in Ukrainian it is a completely normal word.
- [9](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/9/) — "ruchka" means pen and also "little hand", so "daI ruchku" can mean "give me a pen" or "give me your hand".
- [12](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/12/) — "kontrOlna" means a test, and kids often answer "zavtra kontrOlna" with "zhakh!", oh no!
- [13](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/13/) — "dzvinOk" means the bell, and the "dz" at its start is one sound, like in "adze".
- [14](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/14/) — "nudno na urOtsi" means "it's boring in the lesson"; you moan it to friends, never to the teacher.
- [15](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/15/) — "ya ne zrobyv" means "I didn't do it" when a boy says it; a girl says "ya ne zrobyla".
- [16](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/16/) — "spysAty" means to copy someone's answers; copying is cheating, and a friend may answer "ni, sam roby!", no, do it yourself.
- [17](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/school/ukrainian-street/17-marks-exercise-books-tests-and-holidays/17/) — "kanIkuly" means the school holidays, and "skoro kanIkuly!" (holidays soon!) gets the answer "urA!".
