the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. - [21:5](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.5/) — וְאִם־אָמֹר יֹאמַר הָעֶבֶד אָהַבְתִּי אֶת־אֲדֹנִי אֶת־אִשְׁתִּי וְאֶת־בָּנָי לֹא אֵצֵא חָפְשִֽׁי׃ — But if the servant shall plainly say: I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free; - [21:6](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.6/) — וְהִגִּישׁוֹ אֲדֹנָיו אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִים וְהִגִּישׁוֹ אֶל־הַדֶּלֶת אוֹ אֶל־הַמְּזוּזָה וְרָצַע אֲדֹנָיו אֶת־אָזְנוֹ בַּמַּרְצֵעַ וַעֲבָדוֹ לְעֹלָֽם׃ס — then his master shall bring him unto God, and shall bring him to the door, or unto the door-post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever. - [21:7](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.7/) — וְכִֽי־יִמְכֹּר אִישׁ אֶת־בִּתּוֹ לְאָמָה לֹא תֵצֵא כְּצֵאת הָעֲבָדִֽים׃ — And if a man sell his daughter to be a maid-servant, she shall not go out as the men-servants do. - [21:8](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.8/) — אִם־רָעָה בְּעֵינֵי אֲדֹנֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ יְעָדָהּ וְהֶפְדָּהּ לְעַם נָכְרִי לֹא־יִמְשֹׁל לְמָכְרָהּ בְּבִגְדוֹ־בָֽהּ׃ — If she please not her master, who hath espoused her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed; to sell her unto a foreign people he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. - [21:9](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.9/) — וְאִם־לִבְנוֹ יִֽיעָדֶנָּה כְּמִשְׁפַּט הַבָּנוֹת יַעֲשֶׂה־לָּֽהּ׃ — And if he espouse her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. - [21:10](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.10/) — אִם־אַחֶרֶת יִֽקַּֽח־לוֹ שְׁאֵרָהּ כְּסוּתָהּ וְעֹנָתָהּ לֹא יִגְרָֽע׃ — If he take him another wife, her food, her raiment, and her conjugal rights, shall he not diminish. - [21:11](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.11/) — וְאִם־שְׁלָשׁ־אֵלֶּה לֹא יַעֲשֶׂה לָהּ וְיָצְאָה חִנָּם אֵין כָּֽסֶף׃ס — And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out for nothing, without money. - [21:12](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.12/) — מַכֵּה אִישׁ וָמֵת מוֹת יוּמָֽת׃ — He that smiteth a man, so that he dieth, shall surely be put to death. - [21:13](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.13/) — וַאֲשֶׁר לֹא צָדָה וְהָאֱלֹהִים אִנָּה לְיָדוֹ וְשַׂמְתִּי לְךָ מָקוֹם אֲשֶׁר יָנוּס שָֽׁמָּה׃ס — And if a man lie not in wait, but God cause it to come to hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he may flee. - [21:14](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.14/) — וְכִֽי־יָזִד אִישׁ עַל־רֵעֵהוּ לְהָרְגוֹ בְעָרְמָה מֵעִם מִזְבְּחִי תִּקָּחֶנּוּ לָמֽוּת׃ס — And if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from Mine altar, that he may die. - [21:15](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.15/) — וּמַכֵּה אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ מוֹת יוּמָֽת׃ — And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. - [21:16](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.16/) — וְגֹנֵב אִישׁ וּמְכָרוֹ וְנִמְצָא בְיָדוֹ מוֹת יוּמָֽת׃ס — And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. - [21:17](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.17/) — וּמְקַלֵּל אָבִיו וְאִמּוֹ מוֹת יוּמָֽת׃ס — And he that curseth his father or his mother, shall surely be put to death. - [21:18](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.18/) — וְכִֽי־יְרִיבֻן אֲנָשִׁים וְהִכָּה־אִישׁ אֶת־רֵעֵהוּ בְּאֶבֶן אוֹ בְאֶגְרֹף וְלֹא יָמוּת וְנָפַל לְמִשְׁכָּֽב׃ — And if men contend, and one smite the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keep his bed; - [21:19](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.19/) — אִם־יָקוּם וְהִתְהַלֵּךְ בַּחוּץ עַל־מִשְׁעַנְתּוֹ וְנִקָּה הַמַּכֶּה רַק שִׁבְתּוֹ יִתֵּן וְרַפֹּא יְרַפֵּֽא׃ס — if he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit; only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed. - [21:20](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.20/) — וְכִֽי־יַכֶּה אִישׁ אֶת־עַבְדּוֹ אוֹ אֶת־אֲמָתוֹ בַּשֵּׁבֶט וּמֵת תַּחַת יָדוֹ נָקֹם יִנָּקֵֽם׃ — And if a man smite his bondman, or his bondwoman, with a rod, and he die under his hand, he shall surely be punished. - [21:21](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.21/) — אַךְ אִם־יוֹם אוֹ יוֹמַיִם יַעֲמֹד לֹא יֻקַּם כִּי כַסְפּוֹ הֽוּא׃ס — Notwithstanding if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his money. - [21:22](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.22/) — וְכִֽי־יִנָּצוּ אֲנָשִׁים וְנָגְפוּ אִשָּׁה הָרָה וְיָצְאוּ יְלָדֶיהָ וְלֹא יִהְיֶה אָסוֹן עָנוֹשׁ יֵעָנֵשׁ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר יָשִׁית עָלָיו בַּעַל הָֽאִשָּׁה וְנָתַן בִּפְלִלִֽים׃ — And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no harm follow, he shall be surely fined, according as the woman's husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. - [21:23](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.23/) — וְאִם־אָסוֹן יִהְיֶה וְנָתַתָּה נֶפֶשׁ תַּחַת נָֽפֶשׁ׃ — But if any harm follow, then thou shalt give life for life, - [21:24](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.24/) — עַיִן תַּחַת עַיִן שֵׁן תַּחַת שֵׁן יָד תַּחַת יָד רֶגֶל תַּחַת רָֽגֶל׃ — eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, - [21:25](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.25/) — כְּוִיָּה תַּחַת כְּוִיָּה פֶּצַע תַּחַת פָּצַע חַבּוּרָה תַּחַת חַבּוּרָֽה׃ס — burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. - [21:26](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.26/) — וְכִֽי־יַכֶּה אִישׁ אֶת־עֵין עַבְדּוֹ אֽוֹ־אֶת־עֵין אֲמָתוֹ וְשִֽׁחֲתָהּ לַֽחָפְשִׁי יְשַׁלְּחֶנּוּ תַּחַת עֵינֽוֹ׃ס — And if a man smite the eye of his bondman, or the eye of his bondwoman, and destroy it, he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. - [21:27](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.27/) — וְאִם־שֵׁן עַבְדּוֹ אֽוֹ־שֵׁן אֲמָתוֹ יַפִּיל לַֽחָפְשִׁי יְשַׁלְּחֶנּוּ תַּחַת שִׁנּֽוֹ׃פ — And if he smite out his bondman's tooth, or his bondwoman's tooth, he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake. - [21:28](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.28/) — וְכִֽי־יִגַּח שׁוֹר אֶת־אִישׁ אוֹ אֶת־אִשָּׁה וָמֵת סָקוֹל יִסָּקֵל הַשּׁוֹר וְלֹא יֵאָכֵל אֶת־בְּשָׂרוֹ וּבַעַל הַשּׁוֹר נָקִֽי׃ — And if an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die, the ox shall be surely stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit. - [21:29](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.29/) — וְאִם שׁוֹר נַגָּח הוּא מִתְּמֹל שִׁלְשֹׁם וְהוּעַד בִּבְעָלָיו וְלֹא יִשְׁמְרֶנּוּ וְהֵמִית אִישׁ אוֹ אִשָּׁה הַשּׁוֹר יִסָּקֵל וְגַם־בְּעָלָיו יוּמָֽת׃ — But if the ox was wont to gore in time past, and warning hath been given to its owner, and he hath not kept it in, but it hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death. - [21:30](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.30/) — אִם־כֹּפֶר יוּשַׁת עָלָיו וְנָתַן פִּדְיֹן נַפְשׁוֹ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יוּשַׁת עָלָֽיו׃ — If there be laid on him a ransom, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. - [21:31](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.31/) — אוֹ־בֵן יִגָּח אוֹ־בַת יִגָּח כַּמִּשְׁפָּט הַזֶּה יֵעָשֶׂה לּֽוֹ׃ — Whether it have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. - [21:32](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.32/) — אִם־עֶבֶד יִגַּח הַשּׁוֹר אוֹ אָמָה כֶּסֶף ׀ שְׁלֹשִׁים שְׁקָלִים יִתֵּן לַֽאדֹנָיו וְהַשּׁוֹר יִסָּקֵֽל׃ס — If the ox gore a bondman or a bondwoman, he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. - [21:33](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.33/) — וְכִֽי־יִפְתַּח אִישׁ בּוֹר אוֹ כִּֽי־יִכְרֶה אִישׁ בֹּר וְלֹא יְכַסֶּנּוּ וְנָֽפַל־שָׁמָּה שּׁוֹר אוֹ חֲמֽוֹר׃ — And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein, - [21:34](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.34/) — בַּעַל הַבּוֹר יְשַׁלֵּם כֶּסֶף יָשִׁיב לִבְעָלָיו וְהַמֵּת יִֽהְיֶה־לּֽוֹ׃ס — the owner of the pit shall make it good; he shall give money unto the owner of them, and the dead beast shall be his. - [21:35](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.35/) — וְכִֽי־יִגֹּף שֽׁוֹר־אִישׁ אֶת־שׁוֹר רֵעֵהוּ וָמֵת וּמָכְרוּ אֶת־הַשּׁוֹר הַחַי וְחָצוּ אֶת־כַּסְפּוֹ וְגַם אֶת־הַמֵּת יֶֽחֱצֽוּן׃ — And if one man's ox hurt another's, so that it dieth; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the price of it; and the dead also they shall divide. - [21:36](https://md.mova.elamur.ai/free/en/corpora/torah/EXO.21.36/) — אוֹ נוֹדַע כִּי שׁוֹר נַגָּח הוּא מִתְּמוֹל שִׁלְשֹׁם וְלֹא יִשְׁמְרֶנּוּ בְּעָלָיו שַׁלֵּם יְשַׁלֵּם שׁוֹר תַּחַת הַשּׁוֹר וְהַמֵּת יִֽהְיֶה־לּֽוֹ׃ס — Or if it be known that the ox was wont to gore in time past, and its owner hath not kept it in;
