### sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah a book is a scroll, not a bound book, and "God's book" is a record kept by God. Later books also name lost writings such as the book of Jashar, and "Book III" marks a section of Psalms. Interpretation: Tradition reads the book of life as God's record of people, and the Torah itself is called the Book of the Law. The five books of Moses were written on scrolls. The Psalms are divided into five books, like the five books of Moses, and the book of Jashar is a lost collection of songs and deeds mentioned in Joshua and Samuel. In the primary lessons: a thing on the table; a counted thing in problems («a shelf holds 10 books»); in class reading books, exercise books, textbooks; at the library you borrow and return books; in everyday life «book a doctor's appointment», «by the book» (by the rules)

The thing being counted; no clue for the operation. Plural «books». Trap: «pages in a book» counts pages, not books.
