In the Writings it is also the feast and song for a newly dedicated house of God. Interpretation: The princes of the twelve tribes brought gifts on twelve days. Tradition sees each tribe as having its own honored turn in the service. The dedication of Solomon's Temple and the Second Temple, kept with joy, is read as a model of joyful devotion. In the primary lessons: In school and sport: teachers praise dedication — practising, coming every week, not giving up. In books and music: a dedication shows love and thanks. In church life: some churches hold a dedication service when a church building opens, or a baby dedication where parents promise to bring up a child in the faith. In everyday life: a bench or a tree with a plaque in memory of someone. Phrases: «dedication to», «with great dedication», «a dedication service».
