### sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: It can mean everyday clothing, the holy clothes of the priests, or cloth that could become unclean with a skin disease. In the prophets and Job it is also a picture, for the covering of the sea or clouds, or for the bloodstained clothes of a warrior. Interpretation: The priestly garments were made "for splendour and for beauty," and tradition says each one helped atone for a certain sin; the law also forbids mixing wool and linen (shaatnez). The tradition reads the figures of garments as showing God's greatness over creation. In the primary lessons: Used in formal writing, labels («wash this garment inside out»), shops and history. Phrases: «a garment factory», «outer garment», «garment care». It tells the reader about an item of clothing.
