### sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: Here it means the great sea creatures made on the fifth day. The Hebrew word is "taninim", big sea animals. In the psalms and Job, it can also be a sea beast that God defeats or that stands for chaos. Interpretation: Tradition says God made these huge creatures on the fifth day. Some teachers say they include the Leviathan. The psalms call even the sea-monsters to praise God, and read the shattering of their heads as God's power over the sea. In the primary lessons: In stories monsters create danger and fear, and heroes face them; many children's books (like «Where the Wild Things Are») use monsters to talk about feelings and fears. Real life: monsters under the bed are not real; if you are scared at night, tell an adult and use a night light. Phrases: «sea monster», «monster truck», «the Loch Ness Monster», «a little monster».
