### sense in the lessons

In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In the Torah Sarah speaks of pleasure in old age, and a hungry worker may eat grapes at his own pleasure. Sefer Yetzirah calls the Sixteenth Path the pleasure of the Glory, a path of delight in the world to come, tied to the paradise of the righteous. Interpretation: The tradition reads the prophets' and psalmists' words as showing that people's love for Jerusalem is itself a delight God accepts. Sefer Yetzirah's pleasure of the Glory is read as the joy of the righteous in the world to come. In the primary lessons: In everyday life «my pleasure» answers «thank you», and «it was a pleasure to meet you» is polite. In stories characters read or swim «for pleasure», meaning for fun, not for work. Phrases: my pleasure, with pleasure, for pleasure, take pleasure in, a pleasure to meet you.
