In the Tanakh and Jewish tradition: In Jewish tradition ten is a number of completeness, as in ten commandments and ten men for a prayer group. Interpretation: Sefer Yetzirah speaks of ten sefirot, ten numbers on which the world was made. A minyan is ten adults needed for public prayer. In the primary lessons: Maths: a number of things, or a place value (tens): 3 tens = 30; counting in tens; multiplying by 10 moves digits one place left. Everyday: ten fingers, ten toes, ten-pin bowling, a ten-dollar note.
