### note

Formal; in speech people usually say «so». It often comes after a semicolon or a full stop and is followed by a comma. Do not confuse with «subsequently», which means «later, after that» (about time, not cause). The noun is «consequence» (a result). In maths reasoning, «consequently» marks the step that follows from the one before.
