# hr

«hr» in Mova's school dictionary: **a short written form of "hour", and "hrs" of "hours"** — its meaning for a pupil, its sense in the lessons and examples.

### part of speech

abbreviation (hr, hrs); abbreviation (HR)

### meaning for a pupil

### note

Abbreviation, not a word; in full writing say "hour". 1 hr = 60 min; 1 hr = 3600 seconds; 24 hrs = 1 day. Scientists usually write "h" not "hr". Trap: "hr" is not a whole number of minutes in decimals: 1.5 hrs = 90 min, not 150.
