### note

A sign of something added to the old amount. «additional», «a further» and «newly acquired» in an exam also add. Trap: «old» and «new» are kinds; «how many new» asks only for the added part. «pre-loved» and «nearly new» mean used. «New» sounds like «knew» (past of «know»). The opposite is «old» or «used».
