### note

«took out», «gave out», «went out» usually take away. Trap: «N out of M» names a part and a whole, not a subtraction; «3 out of 4» is three quarters. «Find out» and «work out» mean to learn or solve, with no operation. «distributed» in an exam means given out; «exhausted» or «depleted» means none left. «out of order» means broken, or in UK talk, unfair. Safety: «Watch out!» and «Look out!» are warnings.
