Countable: a temperature, temperatures. Rises add and falls subtract; «how much warmer» asks for a difference. Trap: temperatures can go below zero (from −3 to 5 is a rise of 8). Trap: Celsius and Fahrenheit are different scales (water freezes at 32 °F). «Temperature» has four syllables: tem-pra-ture is a common way to say it.
