**The whole BDB entry:** vb. drain, drain out (NH id., press or drain out; Aramaic ܡܨܳܐ, מְצָא id.; Arabic مصو ii. drain to the last drop (Dozy); cf. מָצַץ);— Pf. 2 fs. מָצִית Is 51:17, וּמָצִית consec. Ez 23:34; Impf. 3 ms. apoc. וַיִּמֶץ Ju 6:38, 3 mpl. יִמְצוּ ψ 75:9;—drain, drain out, וַיִּמֶץ טַל מִן־הַגִּזָּה Ju 6:38 and drained dew out of the fleece; so fig., obj. קֻבַּעַת bowl, goblet, of bewilderment from י׳, Is 51:17 (+ שׁתה; of personif. Jerusalem), cf., obj. כּוֹס, Ez 23:34 (+ שׁתה); obj. שְׁמָרֶיהָ the dregs of it (viz. בּוֹס) ψ 75:9 (subj. the wicked). Pf. וְנִמְצָה consec. Lv 1:15 and the blood (of the bird) shall be drained out; so Impf. יִמָּצֵה 5:9 (both P); מֵי מָלֵא יִמָּצוּ לָמוֹ ψ 73:10 water to abundance is drained (i. e. drunk) by them (Gr Che Buhl read יִמְצוּ or יָמֹצּוּ (מצץ) they drain).
