# Forgiveness and harmony

**Gist.** Peace and harmony: forgive, reconcile, do not take revenge.

**Conditions and exceptions.** Forgiveness does not cancel justice: what was stolen should be returned.

**Examples.**

- The Prodigal Son (Lk 15:11–32): the father forgives the son who came back.
- Two goats on a bridge (folk fable): both stood their ground and both fell; giving way is wiser.
